So I've had a pretty rough few weeks. On Jan 28 I good steroid injections into my TM joints and my jaw is still pretty sore from that. I had to miss about 2 weeks of school because of it which was a nice break but now I'm behind and I have lots of makeup work to do. On a separate note this weekend my 3 siblings came home and suprised my parents for their 25th wedding anniversary. They came here Friday night and left this morning.I really love having them here but it's very hard when they come because of my health. This past week I was going to bed at around 8 PM each night because of fatigue and to make sure I was getting 9 hours of sleep. On Friday night I want to bed around 11:30 because the suprise happened at around 10PM and then we naturally stayed up a little longer. So on Saturday it was out only full day together and since my schedule got screwed up I felt terrible the whole day. This really upset me because I could hardly enjoy them being here because I was so fatigued and could hardly think. Saturday night I got extremely tired at around 7 PM but I wanted to stay up so I could be around them more. I ended up staying up until about 11 PM and then I went to bed. I woke up this morning at around 6:30 in just a rage with myself for staying up that late. I felt so terrible when I woke up it was horrible. I began thinking about how much longer I will be sick like this and when will it ever get better. This though just depressed me and angered me more. I fell back asleep and then woke up at around 9 AM feeling pretty decent. My siblings left this morning at about noon but the whole weekend ended on a sour note because of a fight between my sister and parents that started at breakfast. I always get self conscious about how I react to these tense situations and even more so when I'm fatigued so that worsened things. So now I'm just sitting around my house very sad about how the weekend ended and then thinking about when I'll ever get better. I've been going through a flare for about 2 years now. The thought of trying to do any school work or going to school while feeling so physically bad just is exhausting. I don't know how much longer I can keep this up. Its just so damn hard.
keep your head up. how's concert band?and how is your trumpet with those tm injecctions? i spent many years supporting a trumpeter and i adore listening to brass.
what is your treatment besides the cortisone injections? do you get this week off for february high shool vacation? if so I hope you rebound.
remember that your family does not need you spot on when they are assembled en masse. just do your best to be around and don't be so hard on yourself if you have to crash. over the years they will get more and more used to the accommodations that you have to make for your disease to compensate for energy versus fatigue and they will learn to treasure what time they do get from you.

Perhaps in part it's handling certain situations & especially when so close to home.
Handling all this would provoke thoughts along that line.
2 yrs of flaring anyone would wonder if they would ever feel better.
Don't stop fighting for the treatment that will help you achieve that.
It's there & Finding it can be long & frustrating.
Every family has their moments. No such thing as perfect.
Focus on you & what's best for your life & health. As hard as that can be when your around "norms'.
