So often I come here when the pain and frustration is soooo bad. But right now I wanted to share a wonderful feeling. I was laying in bed with a pillow between my knees and feet and felt the throw blanket on my legs. It was so soft that I just lay there enjoying that feeling. I didn't think about what will happen when I wake up or how the day was but just how soft the blanket felt. I hope everyone has a soft blanket.

I know that feeling... I too sleep with a pillow between my knees, I also "hug" one so my shoulders don't crunch too much. And over the top, a lovely super-soft and ultra-light coral fleece snuggly that belongs to one of my kids (they both have one). I am lucky to have minimal pain when I am not moving... it's a nice break!

I appreciate your post. I try to practice mindfulness, and it helps the chronic pain. We need to recognize the comforts around us, helps the body and lifts the spirit!

I have an electric throw. After a hard day, I come home, get under that throw and forget everything else. Thanks for sharing such a nice thought. : )

Beautiful post. Imagery and meditation help alot with pain for me. Finding something nice to focus on will help soothe the pain.

And yes, Lifeis2short, God is the greatest soft blanket of all.

I also think mindfulness helps especially outside in nature.

What type of meditation do you use and how do you learn it?

I would love to learn mediation but can't go to yoga since I can't bend knees and get down to the floor.

Before I was diagnosed I was laying in bed with such severe pain in my ankles. My friend brought me a pillow that was as soft as velvet and put it under my feet. I still had so much pain but the warm, fuzzy and soft feeling of that pillow felt wonderful. 2 years later and I still look forward to that feeling every night...on bad flare days too.
