On 12-16-10 I was started on Simvastatin for very high chlor. About a week ago I started experiencing pain in my right hand and shoulder and some in my right knee. I am on Enbrel and MTX but on the Enbrel I was only taking it every 10 days due to insurance problems. That is all straightened out now so I can go back on it every week. This morning the pain woke me up. I couldn't even pull the bed covers up without crying. My whole body is hurting right now and have been up for 5 hours with no releif. My question is Does this sound like a flare of the RA or a reaction to the chlor. med? I am thinking about going off the chlor. med for a few days to see if thathelps.

I am not sure but would be best to call your Dr.

I was on Simvastatin when I was on both MTX & Enbrel last year & I was okay. For a while I tried a new statin called Crestor & I know that did increase my joint pain so I stopped that & went back to simvastatin.

It's best to call your Dr & maybe speak to a good pharmacist as there are so many variables with this disease and the different cocktail of med's that we are all on.

I too would call the doctor. Joint pain can be a side affect of that medicine. But more often leg pain. I was told you'd have to be off of it for about a month to know for sure. Sometimes it's like being on a tightrope when you have more than one medical issue to deal with.

sounds like me when the enbrel stopped working. I have now been switched to remicade infusions

I agree with Sandi. I think it was the Enbrel not working as good since I was trying to stretch it out to every 10 days. Now that the insurance is straightened out I can take it every week like I am supposed to. It took 2 days after my shot for everything to get back to normal. I will tell my doctor about it on the 20th and see if he agrees. Thank you all for your replies.
