I am on methotrexate and prednisone. I asked my rheumy about flu shots. He told me I can take the seasonal flu vaccine but not the swine flu vaccine (H1N1). I work at a hospital and they are telling us to wash, wash, wash our hands scrubbing for at least 20 seconds as a major preventative of germs. Use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available, too. I would take plenty of hand sanitizer on your trip with you! Enjoy the beautiful autumn colors in New England!
