Good for you. Everyone after this will be easy as can be. My first injection, I cried the whole day before. Finally I was laying in bed with my hubby, and he rolled over, grabbed something off the table, and hit me with the enbrel pen. It was shocking, but it was over. The next time, I did it just holding his hand. After that shipment ran out, I only ordered the syringes after, because the pens would leave awful welts.

I think you just get yourself so worked up. It's not so bad. Congratulations Caspiana. For me I was feeling better the next day - hopefully your results will be this quick.

well guys, i finally did it! i finally injected myself with the sureclick enbrel. something that just had to be done to get over with. i do have to say, it was somewhat uncomfortable. i did hurt! i guess its because it was colder than the average room temperature. i did let it sit out for a while, but my room stays cold the way i like it. also i was sitting on the toilet set so maybe i had too much pressure on my leg, im not sure what caused it to feel so uncomfortable, but its just like getting blood drawn, you know its almost over and cant wait!! but it was over faster than expected!! i was concentrating on the "pain" and before i knew it.. click! thank GOD thats over with, im sure it will get better within time. no bleeding. alittle tender in the area for a few seconds. i like to feel around to see if its going to hurt. i guess im still the kid who touches the hot stove to see if its really hot! i have that habit. but after about a min or so i touched around it and it didnt hurt. im sure it was the fluid. i put a band aid on just to do so, and lets see if it bruises or anything. glad the first one is over with. but it did take me a few days to have the nerve to do so!! im wierd, tough one minute, nervous the next!

But you did it anyways, congrats!

my first time i went to the dr off and had them do it--i was too scared! after that, i just do it. don't like it, but it's over quick! and the relief is worth that few minutes of uneasiness! i'm the original needle fraidycat! can't stand to look at them...and here i am giving myself injections...never thought i'd see the day!

A Big Congrats to Caspiana and Erica26!!! You did it! The first one is always the scariest. From here on out it will be much better. I felt so much better from the Enbrel that I don't mind at all sticking myself. The RA pain hurts so much worse than the quick stick. ;)
