Oct 12 Traditional Columbus Day and my birthday. Today I am 67 years old. That means that I am old enough that I have been through many losses in life. i.e., loss of my parents, siblings, friends, and the worst loss of my life, my dear husband who passed away over 20 years ago. I have never stopped missing my husband. He was the greatest person I have ever met in this life.
However, I am so grateful that I was blessed with my two sons and my grandsons. They have been wonderful bright spots in my life. I have been very sick for the past week and their shows of concern and love have meant so much to me.
Forgive me for rambling but after spending 6 hours in the doctor's office yesterday (my first day out of bed in several days) and being so weak I could hardly hold my head up, I felt so very alone. Then I awoke this morning feeling a little stronger and opening my eyes to all that I have been given in this life. It has been a great life,,,I just wish my Jerry could have physically walked beside me for the last 20 years.

Happy happy birthday! Thank you for sharing your reflections. I'm really glad you're part of the group and have enjoyed your messages.
It's great you've got your sons and grandsons, and I hope you recover soon from your illness. Life does have its losses, that's for sure, and you've had a lot of them. Being able to see the gifts that remain is the most important thing.
