Rheumatoid Arthritis Support Group
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, multisystem, autoimmune disorder. It is a disabling and painful condition which can lead to substantial loss of mobility due to pain and joint destruction. The disease is also systemic in that it often also affects many extra-articular tissues throughout the body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs, and...

So my meds should actually help in preventing dvt. Can you tell I'm trying to convince myself my leg pain is normal for RA?!
Is the tenderness just in the one leg or are you feeling deep achy pains in other parts of your body? I'd ask the rheumy & see what they say.
I have normal RA pains, three bulging discs that are chronic (been there yrs always acting up), and this leg thing so technically nothing else similar to the one leg.
My rheumatologist is great, and I trust her to make an informed decision on this. I really wanted you all to give advice, knowledge etc to ease my mind: or properly warn me if need be before I make it go her.
I feel a little better, Thx again for the comment!
Whether or not yours is the same thing, maybe not sitting with legs crossed would be better.
I will be interested to find out what your doc says.
Hope you get an answer for it.
I'm a rare leg crosser. Mainly because I stand most of the day at work. I have noticed a tendency to bruising easily ever since I took prednisone for those 2-3 years. That's one side effect that never disappeared when I quit using it. And the bruises are usually a tad sore when I push on them. They are also normally on my legs.
I did have a GP like yours for years. He was great if you're the type of patient who researches symptoms and comes in with diagnosis narrowed down to three most common ones :). Have a smart one now - but he is awful quick to throw up hands and refer to a specialist..
I think it's related to the pressure and the fact that our bodies don't have hugely built up muscle. I don't know that the indent will leave...I got rid of my pain after weeks of staying off that side. It was my favorite side to sleep on too. Now that it's better, I can sleep on that side sometimes, and wow - it's such a nice deep sleep. But I try to keep it to once in awhile so I don't go back to that pain.
Surely check with your doctor, but it sounds very familiar.
I think our muscles are more fibrous, less resilient.
