I picked up a magazine in the Drs.office today it was about chronic pain and migraines. Noticed two different adds one said that platelet rich plasma can help with chronic pain I guess this is a service that some pain clinics offer. I never heard of it before and am not sure how I feel about it I don't have any religious prob with blood products but it just seems a little strange. Another add said that studies have found the common HCG used for weight loss have benefited pain levels and that people in chronic pain tend to suffer hormone probs such as thyroid. What are your thoughts? Just some curious findings. Also met a nutritionalist yesterday who said I should abandon all conventional medicine and do his PLAN. I said I know the meds are toxic but so far in my case (I was caught and treated aggressively very quickly ). I don't have the deformity. I had the experience of a dr who took me off all meds at one point becuz he wasn't sure I had RA I wound up in a fetal position in pain and could get around all. I know nature for sure has its benefits but I'm not willing to give up my meds. Blessings.

OK, how about drawn and quartered?

For someone with sketchy medical training, if any, to suggest someone go off all their drugs is irresponsible at best, criminal at worst. He may be the nicest guy in the world, he may mean well, he may be thinking of other things than just the money he could make. But, he is practicing wayyyyy beyond the scope of his licensure, if he has any sort of license other's than a state-issued driver's license.

(I told you all the Enbrel is making me crabby!)

ummm good nutrition should be used to ENHANCE other medical treatment (in a sense it really should just help it all to work better)

Amen to that mttazzie ...i did make the mistake of muncjing on some of my hubby potato chips ..ohhh never again ..ouch ..my elbows swelled and looked like they had points on the end , this stuff amazes me every day in every way !!!

if there was a master plan there would be no active disease. and it would be nice if he/she could go to medical school first. the foodie people drive me to distraction. said from a non PC vegan who watches people stuff their face with every manner of inflammatory food and keeps her mouth shut because it does not seem to have any derogatory affect on my friends and family - they are running marathons and otherwise tip top health at ages of 40 to 80 without having to pick a miracle foodie path of life. i'm a vegan because it feels good emotionally not because I think it contributes more than 10 percent maybe on a good day. i'm a freakin' crabby abby because i am no no meds due to yet ANOTHER infection (some mono type crap) so you are going to see a less kinder gentler Ros

Hi Kim, I was going to a nutritionist doctor for almost 2 years until about a year ago. She was trying to get me off of having to take RA medications. I was on a lot of supplemental vitamins I got from her and my diet was changed to gluten free. What I saw was that I did loose a great deal of weight, (though I did not need to), my blood pressure was lowered, and I went on a lower dose of medication and I virtually had no more asthma attacks as I used to. I attribute it mostly to the diet. As for getting off of medication for RA, I think that is a super tall order.
