I do have a rubber rope that was mailed to me by the arthritis foundation and that is for pulling on arms and stretching my legs. I have to admit have only used it a few times.
I also prefer the resistance machines over free weights. Start out super slow, maybe 8-10 reps, but only one set.
It will feel like you aren't doing much work, but you really are. You are training your body of what you expect of it. Do short bursts of cardio, 5 minutes on a recumbant bike, etc.
Not sure about you, but I used to lift A LOT. Could do 480 on the seated leg press. Basically in my early to mid twenties I was a gym rat.
I have to mentally train myself how to workout again. No pain, no gain definitely does not apply anymore. It really sucks, but I am trying to incorporate more activity into my life/
i am interested to find out how thi chi helps so please keep dated

I have Wii Fit too but that's too much most days. I like it because it tracks your posture and progress day to day even weight & calories burned.

Sometimes I can't do what they are doing- such as exercises where you are putting a lot of weight on your wrists.....I try to keep active in other ways during those segments.
Lately I have been feeling fatigued and sore and try to talk myself out of the effort.
Trying to push thru non the less because also see my middle getting larger.....
