Hi there and welcome, you will find this site is the best place to vent and get your questions out there without any judgement because we all have this beast living inside of us and sometimes the beast is just too much to deal with so come here and find us. I have to say, my own personall experience with this site is that it has saved my life when I was so low, nice to know that even though I live alone, I am not alone which is a godsend cause sometimes you just need someone to say it is ok to feel this way. Hello and welcome to the RA discussion group. This place has lifted my spirits many times when I was feeling really down, sick, and needed some encouragement. Relatives and friends just don't understand what RA does to us and how serious the disease is. That's why this group is here. It gives us a place to vent our feelings and frustrations and pain to an audience of wonderful people that have been afflicted with the same "beast" and totally understands us.

I started out on Methotrexate and Nsaids. Cannot take the Plaquenil (allergy). After the first year, I started on the biologics. I am now taking Orencia infusions once a month and I believe the Orencia is starting to work. I seem to be losing some of the stiffness (fingers crossed). I am a whole lot older than you are and so I am wondering why you are not on a biologic?

Welcome Sara. I was diagnosed in June. The worst part for me is my feet and ankles. I was put on MTX, folic acid, and Celebrex. I am waiting for approval from my insurance, so that I can start Humira.

thank you all so much!! it does feel really good that i can talk to people that understand how i am feeling, i try to explain it to my husband but he will never know how i am feeling. i have been trying to find a support group for a while now and i am glad that i finally found one. i have been reading some post that people have put up and it just makes my day to know that i am not alone. i hope you all are feeling better today and i wish you all the best :) ((hugs))

Welcome. I was just recently diagnosed (aug 2012) but most likely have had RA since i was 19. THough its really only one joint right now u'd be suprised how important an elbow can be. This group so far has been amazing. No matter how understanding husbands can be unless they are inside your body they cant ever fully understand. So welcome!
