My primary doc just put me on 40 mg for 4 days, then 30 for4' ten 20 for 2 and 10 for 2. He thinks it's tendinitis. And my RA. It's working but I'm wide awake. Has anyone else this high a dose and what happened ?

I've been on a dose that high before to help knock down a giant flare.
When I am on a dose of this amount, I usually feel fantastic. It gives me a short break from the daily pain. I know this medication isn't good for you if taken long term. And, this is the very reason for my love/hate relationship with this medication.
As far as feeling wide awake, I get the same reaction/side effect from corticosteroids; they make me feel great, take the pain away, and help relieve my fatigue issues; all in the short term.
