I'd definitely let your Dr see it, mine had me go get it biopsied by a dermatologist.
I also have sebaceous hyperplasia in a few places on my forehead. Again, benign. I think these are tied in to rosacea. Roseacea is somehow tied to my eye dryness (blephritis or similar). And all of that is loosely tied to autoimmune disease.
I think most of my skin ailments tie back to RA, same with allergies.
