And, THANK YOU for the eye-opener on MTX. I started it in OCT, and Dec I had terrible respiratory illness that took 2 antibiotics to help..???

So glad it's not cancer or TB. Rest, I mean really rest but don't lay flat for long periods...try to sit up and rest. Hugs.

Oh my gosh! I'm so glad that they found out what was wrong! I can't believe you have had pnemonia that long! Please rest and take care!

I've had undiagnosed for months too. It's called "silent pneumonia". But I was so sick, I can't figure out why they took so long for an xray.

Glad to hear and hope you recover with this antibiotics. What type did they give you? I happen to know quite a bit about which ones work and which don't, from years of experience.

I will never take MTX either. There are other choices out there. I hope you won't be in too much pain as you go off medication...

Happy news! Those deep infections can be tricky. A co-worker's husband was being tested for all types of cardiac maladies from sleep apnea to angina--- turned out to be a months long sinus infection. So i believe you! (I wonder how they know it's been gong on a long time?).

by the way, this is a good example of the infections we are warned about getting on RA med. I know the doctors say to quit the medication when we get sick or have an infection, but this is a perfect example of how an infection isn't even known.

Thanks everybody. I already feel better this morning and yes, lots of rest on the agenda for awhile. he said he knew it was there that long because it is so deep under the cavity. and my cough has been here that long as well. he put me on levofloxacin-750 mg. I can only take them at nite because they make me feel so sick if I take them during the day. I did have tests run throughout this time but they could only find it with the scans. Ive been telling Rheaumy for months about it and finally she referred me to a pulmonoligist. I went to my family dr several times and she couldnt find anything. this was such a wake up call. I stopped taking the mtx a few weeks back due to this cough. I had a hard time stopping so abrupt, I went into a flare and asked Rheumy for prednisone, so I am feeling better from that as well. I wonder why some people do great on mtx but others have these kinda issues? and why Dident Rheumy take this cough more serious at the beginning, you would think they would know what to look for. well no more complaints, just awareness! Im sooo thankfull it was found anyway !! hope everybody has a great day ! Hugs Tina

Tina, I'm so glad you saw a pulmonologist and discovered the pneumonia. Pneumonia is serious business. Please take care and get lots of rest and know that you have all of us pulling for you.

Wow, I'm glad you were sent to this doctor,. I have not doubt my cough was worse on MTX. I'm off it also, at least for now.
I really have no desire to go back on it either. I did not get enough relief.

Scary, I am slowly kicking this but its taking forever.
Oddly enough I coughed like mad at the RA appointment this week. Its not that bad anymore but for whatever reason it was bad during that visit.
enough to have here raising her eyes at me while I was explaining my exam was clear for my lungs.

Its all odd you know? Maybe there are just some that will have more problems on this med then others.
