I have only been on meds for my RA for a little over a week now I am taking methatrexate, prequanil, along with folic acid and vitamin d....I am now really sick and wondering if anyone else got sick after starting meds, trying to decide between wierd coincidence or reaction to medication. Thanks!!

Hi,

I've been on methotraxate for nearly 2 years. When I first started it I got quite sick with nausea for a few days after taking it. I barely affects me now and I'm on 25mg which is the maximum dose here. (Australia).

When i started I got sick to with nausea and felt very drained. I still get tired after i have my shot. It just comes with the territory. I hope that your side effects will lessen in time. Good luck

you might want to add one more pill lol for nausea. it's a life saver for me

And how long did it take for the pain to go away? I am on nothing to help with the pain now, I am allergic to asprin so no anti-inflamatories but everything says these meds could take months to take effect. From reading here I am assuming I will never be pain free, but I would love to be able to get out of bed and hold a coffee cup without this pain!
