Retreat challenge course

I've reserved 25 spots for the Stillwater Challenge Course, which will begin at 9 AM Friday. Make sure if you want to participate you've got a travel schedule that will accommodate it, and let me know if you want to participate. The whole activity takes about 4 hours.

My partner thinks I'm crazy but if the harness will hold my weight and fit around my hips then (at least from this safe distance lol) I'm in.

The course is in 3 elements so I presume that if once we get there we decide the high element is a step too far we can quietly pass that section?

Do we need to make sure our travel insurance covers the activity?

I'm waffling back and forth. This year I really want to try the sweatlodge again. It would probably be best to deal with only one potential source of terror per retreat. I'm not sure I could handle both...

I am waiting to hear an reply on Heptet's question about doing the low course first and seeing how that goes before committing to the high ropes. Matt, is that how it works?

Remember that this event begins at 9 AM in Stillwater on Friday. Be sure to plan travel accordingly; it's just not going to be possible to arrange pickups at the OKC airport any time on Friday for those wanting to do the course for that reason. I'd suggest opting for the Thursday arrival if you want to do the course. I'm trying to clarify this up-front because it won't be possible to do last-minute scrambling, and I don't want anyone's feelings to be hurt if they have arrival times that conflict with this and then want to be included.

I'll ask the course people about doing a trial low course first, and about insurance issues.

I looked on my individual policy (I think that's where we might have to) and I don't have to declare doing a zip wire, only if I decide to sit on an ostrich and race it... Their dangerous activities list gave me loads of ideas :) will skip ostrich racing and jumping out of helicopter to ski down a mountain

Okay, we'll have to hold off the ostrich-mounted helicopter-assisted bungee jump until we work out those details. Sheesh, way to ruin it for EVERYONE, Hep.

Interestingly enough, ostrich-mounted bungee jumping from helicopters is about the one activity I don't have some sort of phobia about! (Yeah, right...)
