For those of you arriving at the OKC airport in the afternoon of May 15, I have some options that may be helpful for you.
Some of you were talking about pooling funds to rent a bus-bench van. If you do, my wife would be happy to meet you all at the airport as you arrive, and would offer to drive the van up to the campground. That way, you all have a friendly, known person to greet you! No fear about arriving in a strange city!
In addition, Danee has a minivan and she has also offered to drive some people. She can fit 3-4.
I also have a friend from my church who has asked for the day off work to assist in transport. But it's not someone you all know, and he's a male (ooohh! Creeeepy! ha ha!). He understands that for people arriving together for this, some would be uncomfortable to ride with him. But, he has offered to be a "luggage transport" guy. In other words, you all can ride in vans with Tonya and Danee, and he would follow in a van with just luggage in it. That way, we can fit maximum numbers of people in each van.
Does this sound good?
Oh, and Tonya and Danee would also be able to drive people back to the airport. A couple of you are staying an extra day because of flight plans, and she could shuttle you to your hotel so you don't have to worry about finding it while driving alone. We're trying to think of anything we can possibly do to help people feel secure and not have to worry about strange people in strange cities. Is it working?

(A Card board sign would work too...as long as your dressed like a limosine driver with the hat and all, while your holding it...;)
Wow, you guys are going above and beyone, and I so appreciate it, especially the ride back to a hotel on Sunday, because I am one who needs to stay the extra night. I was worried about that leg of the journey, and THIS post sets so many things at ease for me. Thanks so very much.
Oh, and since none of us actually knows anyone else...maybe we should ALL have signs....with our screen names on them....of course "Mockingbird" won't fit on any such sign, so...I'll just go by "Mo"....think you can spot me???

(I'll be driving to the retreat...looks like about 7 hrs.) My first solo road trip in a long time. I'm excited!
