anti-depressents

Will anti-depressents worsen rls? I am taking effexor XR and my rls is getting worse. However, it's getting worse all years and I was on anti-depressents six months ago with no problems, also my rls was getting worse before I was on effexor xr. So I am not sure if it's my natural rls getting slowly worse or if it's the drug or a combo. Does anyone else have this going on?

Jissel, I am also on Effexor XR and Requip. I have been on Effexor longer and did not see an increase or change in my RLS. Once I started Requip it was like getting my life back. I sleep much better and even dream again. One thing I noticed is that when my anxiety got worse so did my RLS. I came to a conclusion that it is a bit of a physcological thing in that it is just another thing to worry about and then the anxiety starts.

I have tried various anti-depressants over the years and this one is fairly new to me but seems to have less side effects than any of the others. From my experiences I would guess that the Effexor is not making it worse. Again, just a guess.

I also think that it is anxiety related. Mine subsided for a few months and when I moved for school, it came back with a vengence. As for the initial cause, perhaps years of stress can do it.
