Renal cell carcinoma, also known by a gurnistical tumor, is the most common form of kidney cancer arising from the renal tubule. It is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults. Initial therapy is with surgery. It is notoriously resistant to radiation therapy and chemotherapy, although some cases respond to immunotherapy.
I wanted to welcome you to the site, and just let you know ther are alot of great women here who will help you with any questiions you may have.. I know a little about Chromophobe renal cell, my fiance has stage IV mRCC and was d/x's in Aug 2008 and today he is doing very well.. I don't know of any other treatments that they use on Chromophobe, but Sutent, and it's a good drug to give a try to for first time treatment.. My fiance was on Torisel which is basically for adanced renal cancers.. I do know it's a clear cell cancer and is a rarer than renal cell because it origionates in the lining of the very small tubulars of the kidney and i have read alot about all the the types of renal cell.. It's also a cancer that the prognoisis is alot better than renal cell too.. Where Sutent is a small module muli-targeted recector blockers can block off cancer cells faster than they can multiply.. I myself think for a first treatment to try Sutent would be the best, Nexavar is for more advance cases.. I was kind of sorry my fiance didn't try it we went straight for Torisel.. But he did well for over a yr but the side effects were to much..
I am sorry that i didn't have the answer as to what you asked but i wanted to welcome you and just let you know i am here if you ever have the need to talk feel free to write me.. Sometimes i go a little overboard but i wanted you to feel welcome here so i just passed on some info i knew about..
Welcome again,
Becca
It is a rare renal cell cancer as we can see,no one has replied. I am giving sutent a try with hopes it will help. I also have stage IV renal cancer with mets to my lymph system. My doc discussed several other drugs we can try if sutent doesn't work and I think Torisel is one. Can he not try sutent now?

I was diagnosed with chromophobe RCC after I had a 12cm tumor removed from my right kidney. Just wondering if it is true the chromophobe RCC has lesser chances of returning?
