I wasn't a member 6 months ago, but have been dealing with mRCC for almost 8 years now. My husband was dx in March of 2002. Back then, there wasn't much in the way of treatment options. I'll use your medaphor and say that my husband and I both were "numb" for quite a long time. Then, new meds were coming out and my husband's prognosis became more and more hopeful. He is now circling back on drugs he was on as a clinical trial years ago and having good luck with it again. What I am trying to tell you with all this is that today it is very possible to live with this cancer. It can be treated like other chronic diseases and you can surely have a long, productive and happy life regardless of what your scan results show. So, please don't lose heart. I will be hoping and praying that your news will be great.
Wishing you the best,
Linda
