Do you believe that you can bond over endless emails? Obviously theres no serendipity involved with internet dating, but does this actually work?
Can you fall in love over the internet.... DONT LAUGH this actually does happen?
I believe that it can just becarefull l!!! Anyone else have any thoughts about this subject? It's a pretty popular topic. Just use one that is popular and reputable and very well screened.
Hugs for ya sweetie,
Niecy.
I think since it happens, it must be possible. I think people say be careful and that is wise, yes, but I think people should exercise more caution and attention to any relationship. I think there maybe some advantage to either emailing and or talking to someone on the phone, if the situation is right, in order to get to know them. Maybe just hearing there voice or reading their words can afford you more attention to be payed toward what they are saying. Less distractions, like on a date. I think, like all things, it could be a good thing and it could be also bad. All depends on your level of attention to what is going on.
There is also something to be said for the way we think of relationships and dating people in most western countries that can be seen as peculiar. I heard Ram Dass talk about an experience in india, with an 18 year old man, who was going to get married. He asked the guy "how will you know if you like her?" The marriage had been arranged by the astrologer and he only met her once, very briefly. The man did not understand the question. The cultural take on it there is that life hands us things, and we accept and deal with them. Well something like that. Ram Dass stated that he didn't think that the people in india were any more unhappy then us in this country, as far as relationships go. The divorce rate in India is one of the lowest in the world among all countries. It does make on wonder......
I had a close friend meet her hubby that way. They have been together almost 8 years now. I believe love is love. As long as you are mindful of the games that could be played.
True story...my grandparents actually fell in love through letters, now this was before internet :-) But it's similar right? They wrote back and forth when my GP was in the Navy and they have been 2gether over 50 yrs now...of course divorce rates were far less in the 1940's though lol!
Actually I met my Fiance on the internet. I met her through Match.Com and we have been together for over 3 years. It does happen but i do beleive you have to be cautious.
I met my husband in a chatroom on AOL 5 yrs ago, we have been married now for 3 yrs and have a beautiful baby girl together. I did date on line thru services for almost a yr, and yes I met some not so nice guys as well as really great guys! You have to be just as careful as you would with any NEW person in your life. I believe it is important to meet someone if you hit it off, not spend months and months writing emails, you need to see what they are really like, we can write and be anything we want thru emails.
in my case i was a match.com success story :) in may it will be 4 years that i have been with my fiance. Things are as strong as ever and its nice keeping it that way.
It is possible. You just have to be careful. I met my husband through a Yahoo Chatroom 5 years ago in June and we have been married for 4 years next week. Just keep you wits about you and things will be fine. Good luck. Everyone deserves that someone special in their life.
I'm sure it happens all the time, but the bad thing is how easy it can be to misrepresent one's self; and a person can get all wrapped up in fantasyland, imagining how wonderful the other person is. Then they meet for real and it's like--hey, who the heck are you? That's never happened to me though. I'm actually quite timid about online interacting that way--not so sure I'd go that route.
I met my significant other actually on this site....It was great to be intimate in a communicative way rather than physical way at first..It gave us the chance to get to know each other...without all the other addictive stuff...Today we live together and its the best relationship i have had my whole life....It can happen..But first i needed to get armed with the truth about myself...
thanks
