Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Support Group
Reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome (RSDS), also known as complex regional pain syndrome, is a chronic condition characterized by severe pain following injury to bone and soft tissue. The most common symptom is burning pain. The patient may also experience muscle spasms, local swelling, increased sweating, softening of bones, joint tenderness or stiffness, restricted or...
I'm in a bad way today with RSD, and was trying to lurk around and distract myself from the pain...typings bad today- anyway YES you can get Social Security as a result of the rsd, I did two years ago, took first the application then won on the appeal.
I sweat a lot, especially around the head, Dr. says part RSD, part PAIN and part Pain Meds equals Lots and Lots of sweating- yuck. Watch out for infected sweat glands if your sweating so much. I get them under arm, breasts, and upper thighs, all places that don't dry well and stay continually wet when you sweat a lot.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and CFS before I hurt my foot and developed RSD. I did get SSD. I never used a TENS unit. Did have injections, but they didn't help. Also had a spinal cord stimulator trial which didn't help much either, so I didn't get the permanent implant. I used pain meds for a while particularly after my injury and subsequent surgeries, but after a while they didn't work very well and I didn't like the way they made me feel. Now I just use a cream my pain doctor has compounded for me with several types of pain meds in it. I also have sweating, but I think mine is from my fatigue and also I have heard that sweating can be your bodies reaction to pain.
Hang in there and take care of yourself!
