I'm really scared because at a quick overview of the new insurance coverage I may not be able to keep my doctors who I've had for the last 10+ years, one of whom is the best RSD doctor in the regional area I've been told. He's been one who has not been afraid to prescribe opiates when I need them either. He understands pain because he deals with pain of his own. I won't be able to see my same shrink or even my same internal medicine doctor.
Well, maybe it will change if/when I get approved for ss disability too - I have an appeal coming up so I'm on the edge over that. I know I shouldn't worry, it won't help anything.
Has anyone else had this experience? Is there any way around it? For instance, can a primary doctor in the new insurance network insist that I have to see my RSD doctor who I've been seeing? And make the insurance company pay for it? I hate insurance! I don't understand it!

you might be able to keep the specialists with a referral from the pcp, not sure don't know what the new insurance requires. You could call them to see if that would work (the new insurance) they should be able to tell you what's required to keep them if you can under that insurance.
I've had it go both ways...so you'll just have to contact them and see. Insurances are very confusing for me, too.
I've been in a huge flair up as well...so definetly understand that...

Now hopefully I'll have enough $ to pay the insurance premium, the deductible and copays. Let go and let God.
