I'm 17and have been suffering with full body RND since I was 14. I was diagnosed when I was 15 and was lucky enough to live just 40 minutes from a hospital that had an RND program. It involved physical, mental and occupational therapy. I lied my way through it to graduate the program. The muscle wasting caused by inactivity from the pain and the virus that supposedly rewired my nerves was helped, but the pain never left. I learned to ignore it because I wanted to move on with my life. I had almost ended it that first year after diagnosis. After the therapy I struggled but made it back to school. I had missed almost half my freshman year and had to quit volleyball. It could be manageable for months and flare up randomly for weeks. However it was never as bad as the intial start. I suffer from almost all symptoms including swelling, discoloration, burning, stabbing, tingling, shooting pain, fatigue, foggy mind, dizziness, stomach aches, nausea and excessive popping. It's all over my body but in different parts at different times. I've even experience it behind my eyes and in my ears. Recently it has been really bad and I haven't changed anything. Not sure why but it sucks and my grades and mental health are suffering. I'm more paranoid the worse the pain is. Im in and out of school again. I have new symptoms including face swelling. Swelling not new but in the face has never happened before. I have moved since the diagnosis and live in Florida. Turns out the cold made it worse for me. The last place I lived refused to give me any medication because their program didn't believe in it. I need relief because I'm tired of being stopped by it and want to live a normal life. I don't want to feel like I'm dying every day. Some moments can be so painful that I want to die right there. I can't get a psychologist appointment until April since I'm new to area. I had to call one in Georgia since no one would return my calls here. Where I live in Florida RND is not well known at all and doctors aren't sure what to do for me. I have rhumatologist appt in March. Does anything work? I need help or support or someone who gets that my invisible illness. No one can relate or understand my struggle. I'm in a bad place....
