I have heard good things and the couple I spoke to about it, while religious themselves, felt that wasn't an overpowering theme to the retreat. They felt that it was more about communication and bonding than about religion, but it's hard to say if that's because they are invested and practicing Christians and as such didn't notice it?

We almost went, but there weren't any retreats close enough to us that we could swing it. The way we looked at it, even if it ended up being uncomfortably religious for us, we'd have each other to stick to and something to joke about afterward. (Not to be disrespectful at the time, mind you, just a good laugh privately between us after the fact.)

My cousin and her H have gone to the retreats and have participated in their group meetings monthly. It really sounded great, but then to hash it all out on a monthly meeting... So 12 step... Hi may name is ___ this is my story... So the new people know who they are.. She liked it
