Christmas card woes

I was shopping for my family Christmas cards today. When I got to choosing one for my Husband, I became very sad. They all spoke of true love, how special Christmas is when you have someone to share it with, how glad we are we found each other, so many Christmases together, my one and only, and on and on. I needed a Christmas card to say...Merry Christmas, you blankety, blank..how could you have done this to someone you love?? They should make cards that are a little less wordy for cases like ours. I'm going to avoid the card department...it put me in a real funk.

I'm having that same problem. Our anniversary is tomorrow. Not our wedding but the day we met and i usually make a deal about it. I'm not sure what to do about tomorrow. I guess i will go with making a card on the computer and have it be funny. However i'm having a hard time being funny these days and cant think of anything funny about the day we met and it not sounding sarcastic.

I had the same problem with the anniversary and birthday cards. Our anniversary was two months after Dday. I found out two days before our anniversary that he was still speaking to her like a lover even though they were no longer screwing. I found one of those "you are a wonderful husband, a special man, my everything" cards and then at the end wrote "of course none of this applies to you anymore". I gave it to him and he smiled as he read all the wordy stuff Hallmark wrote and then when he got to the part I wrote he just stared at me for a few seconds and then looked down and began to cry. I felt horrible. He just kept saying "you didn't need to do that". I said "neither did you".

Needless to say, my cards are rather impersonal now. He noticed that with the last one I have him and I just shrugged.
