It's also a marathon, not a race. Taking the time to grieve properly will ensure that you are fully healed and not just rug sweeping. There have been a LOT of people who've been like, "Yay! I'm all better! It's been two weeks since my spouse cheated, but I feel GREAT and I'm TOTALLY over it because I realized I love my spouse!" and then two weeks later, they're back here in misery thinking it's the end of the world. My heart breaks for those poor souls... it sucks to think everything is better only to realize there are still things to work out.
Your process has been well documented here and I think for you, that's a huge blessing. You can look back at where you came from and see just how amazingly far you and your wife have come. I hope your continued healing goes smoothly and you find yourselves deliciously in love as the years continue to pass for you two.
Every so often I read old journals of mine to remind me how far I've come.
I tell her when I am troubled...and I tell when i am feeling like nothing bad every happened....
over this year, i have had times when i though "aha...i think i must be over it" ..and then bam.... I'm back down the rabbit hole...but this time...it feels more certain.... its a good feeling
