Rebuilding Marriage After Infidelity Community Group
A community for those who have been through the heartbreak of infidelity and decided to stay with their partner and try to re-build the relationship.
Today I was at Wal-Mart and a man I have know casually for some time came up to me smiling broadly and acting very familiar with me like we are old friends. He has always been very friendly with me but post DDAY he is one of only 2 men that have flirted with me blatantly. Twice we have been side by side in our cars and both times he smiled broadly and waved and played little car games i.e. speed up, slow down and blowing me a kiss.
Now I have a cleaning business and I have signs on my car with my phone number and today he talked like he was interested in my cleaning service, asking how much I charge, etc and then asking for a business card. He said he tried to get my number off my car one day but didn't quite get it before he lost sight.
This is a very normal interaction I would have with someone interested in cleaning service and I usually wouldn't think anything of it. Even with a single man. I have worked for many. But he has flirted with me. That makes it different and I didn't like the vibes I was getting. I was very uncomfortable giving him my number and when he said goodbye to me he hugged me rather warmly with a little pat on the back.
Interestingly the first time he flirted with me was not to far after DDAY and I kinda liked it. It made me smile. I think I still had some fog going on. I DID NOT like it today. It made me feel sick. I am just so scared of something happening again. I know better than to trust myself now and I have to keep hard boundaries with men. Wal-Mart was busy today and there were people everywhere. I don't think he really wants me to clean. He just wants my number.
Funny thing is my H was on the phone with me through the whole interaction through an earpiece. He really wasn't aware of what was going on and didn't think too much of it except a little curiosity until I told him the story later. He has forbidden me to work for this man under any circumstances and I know my priest will say the same thing and I had already decided that for myself.
My H said if he starts contacting me we will block his number like we did OMs. I guess the "parental controls" are still on my phone. I am OFFICIALLY CREEPED OUT!!!

So far, they guy has not tried to contact her. I suppose if he was in sex-text mode, he'd probably already done it this weekend. I figure if he doesn't call this week, he probably picked up her uncomfortableness and it turned him off. But Gab does need to work on her assertiveness on communicating clearly her feelings. She didn't want to give him her number, but she did because I guess she couldn't think of any good excuse not to (her number is on the side of her car for the business, and he was asking about it for business reasons, so it wasn't an inappropriate request. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have thought anything about it. Before the A, she wouldn't have thought much about it. After, however, is a different story.
