Some of the things that I think of as my own process towards recovery:
-seriously reducing or completely eliminating physically hurting myself
-stopping drug use, whether it's used to numb or to feel; i need to realize that my reality is MINE, and it will never change if i stay high in a secondary world
-stop feeling guilty when i ask for help, even if i don't know what kind of help i need
-continue to be in the company of others i trust and love when the urge to hurt myself or use drugs arises
-if i want more out of my life, suicide is NEVER going to solve that; i will not get more if i commit suicide, it will give me nothing - which is often how i've felt when alive anyway
as always, i'll come back when i think of more
I will have the confidence to walk around my university campus and not feel beaten by everyone, i will look in the mirror and smile. I will go to sleep and dream, not suffer nightmares.
recovery is a state i thought i was in until recently, i guess i hadnt truly reached my goal.
most importantly i will know that my abuse and rape werent my fault.
i think I know when I get there...I imagine itll be one of those moments when your like"oh this is recovery!"
make any sense?
I feel pretty good at the moment..
Not sure yet how I'm going to get there, I suppose it's a case of re-assuring myself that I'm still strong even if I do let it all go now and again.

*When i can truly enjoy what i do.
*When i feel in control of me.
