Hello I'm a mother of 2 beautiful teens..13 and 15 and they're my life. This story is one that I feel so alone in because the Justice System has let me and my 15 year old down twice..As she came out with her first offender 5 years ago..It was my ex husband and I did my duty..Called the authorities and we began the process...My daughter was approx 7 when it happened and came out at 10. This man went to court and because she had waited it really hurt our case. This was her step dad...Another child..His biological daughter came out as well during the investigation. He got off with child felony endangerment and spent 4 months in prison. I live in Arkansas and he paroled out to Texas upon release. I'm very glad he did as I never want to see him again. Well.. Approx 1.5 years ago my 14 year old..Now 15..Same daughter started cutting herself. I will never forget the feeling of having a child that was harming and me feeling so out of control...I didn't understand it..It was new to me. After 3 stays for children that are having those problems...My daughter opened up 2 a nurse at the facility that there was a 2nd offender after my ex husband...One of my best friends that I grew up with and briefly dated after my divorce. I was astounded..My first question to the therapist..Why didn't she say anything 5 years prior. Her response..They come out with the one who did it the most first. I was floored...Yet again..I would have to go thru this. Well we will call my childhood friend Kenny...By this time Kenny wasn't in Arkansas anymore. He moved to Colorado. HERE'S WHERE THE TRICKY PART COMES IN...If the alleged perpetrator is in a different state... Arkansas State Police will show up to wherever they are and give them an opportunity to do a "courtesy interview" this means you are being accused and you may or may not go with them to your local Police Dept. To discuss it and be questioned. Well when they went to Kenny..At his work mind you ..Where his wife whom he lives with in Colorado with 2 children of her own..Worked too...Kenny said he wasn't going for questioning and that he wasn't speaking without a Lawyer and the investigator told me she was extremely defensive for him in which the Detective asked her"ma'am you have 2 children correct?" In which she replied "yes" . The Detective then said "well if I had 2 children and my spouse was being accused of this I'd want them to go" ...Both were inappropriate asked them to leave..And they did. You see..I see it as a loophole for offenders..If u live in a different state. You Don't have to interview unless you get expedited in which a state won't pay for unless they Are 100 percent sure they did it. And here's the other kicker..If your child was way young they always have the "there's no way they remember being that Young" welli know that's a crock of shit as I remember being 5 and molested. So here's what happened to Kenny....He was placed on child maltreatment registry for sexual assault .. Something only certain ppl can see..Jobs for hire and Government. He did get this because the Detective believed my daughter and because I had absolutely nothing to come back at that man with. He was someone I trusted with my life. They always are. My daughter did a 7 month stay in a rehabilitation center is now in counseling as is my 13 year old. Well..I thought it was over​ and my 13 year old just came out as she's starting to Have flashbacks..Of 2 ppl..And with the description.. Yup.. Same 2 men. So we have a new investigation now open..I'm n Arkansas remember..Ex husband in Texas and Kenny in Colorado. And yet again we are waiting on these courtesy interview's..Which are a joke. I am left with the question...IS THERE A WAY AROUND THE COURTESY INTERVIEW? Please help!
