Struggling is normal, don't beat yourself up, tell those "friends" that tell you get over it, to go to hell.
Trying to be strong, is good, it's the only way you are going to win this battle, but also give yourself time to grieve. Either get alone, or preferably with a friend that is compassionate about it, and cry your eyes out, you will feel better.
Every step of the process is a battle, your life is the war. You can lose a battle or two, and still win the war, but if you give up, you will lose the war. Being strong when you can, winning the battles you can, will take away the power your attacker has over you, and will give it to you. Losing a battle let him keep his power. If you lose a battle, go back and try again, until you win. You might need to take a break between battles, that is ok, we all need to rest every now and then. Here are the 5 steps of greiving, that you will go through, learn them, recognize them in your life, and accept them.
Denial and Isolation
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
