So I have a guy friend who tells me "it will do u good to talk to the police "... I have been denying the need for help since April. .. idk if I can "win" in this situation. ...
It didn't make me feel better because they tried to know if I was lying so they asked a lot of questions. It was not easy. But I don't regret it at all !! To be honest, I am not sure I would have go report it by myself. Maybe yes, maybe no. So I understand your hesitations. Personnally, it gaves me the opportunity to defend myself, to express myself about it, it gave me more strength and I feel like it almost gave a 'meaning' to my rape because I'm thinking of all the other women he could have hurt and it makes me sick.
I don't know if you will win in a judiciary way and the more I read Survivors stories the more I understand we all have a different process for healing but it could at least help you recognize what happened by officially saying it.
