Hi all, I'm still relatively new on here, but i just wanted to put this on here incase anyone is waiting to go to trial or is debating reporting something.
The bastard who raped me, my mums boyfriend (no longer), was sentenced on friday, he was charged with 3 counts of rape, 2 vaginal, 1 oral, grevious bodily harm, false imprisonment, possession of a threatening weapon with intention to harm (or something to that effect) and another charge whichs relates to him tying and gagging me.
Sorry if that was a bit graphic, dont want to upset anyone. Just want all the facts out there.
Any how, he was sentenced to 18 years, reduced to 14 because he FINALLY pleaded guilty, and the sentence hes got is an IPP (indefenant public protection) which means he has to serve a minimum of 7 years before he can apply for parole, he then has to prove to the parole board that he is no longer a danger to the public through psychiatric reports etc.
All in all its classed as a good result, as many rapists are let out with 2 years and their name on some register. Im from the UK by the way, hence the terminology. Just wanted to put it out there to let people know there can be light at the end of it all.

I just want to say, I did anonymously report my rapist, but police said I need to file an official report. So unfortunately nothing was done. When I read stories like yours it makes me wonder if I should. I live in another country now than him and I can't really afford to keep flying back and forth if it goes to trial, etc. Also I don't want to file an official report because I don't want him to know my last name and later find me and retaliate. I feel very safe knowing he has no way of ever finding me and I'm not sure if reporting is worth giving that up.
