I have a dr appt for GI issues next week and there is a very good chance I will wind up having to have an endoscopy and/or a colonoscopy. I am completely triggered by the mere possibility and even by the dr appt to discuss this. (If I do have either/both of these, they won't be during this appt).
I have been trying to talk about it in therapy and even that is triggering me. (I have been raped more than once and been thru other forms of abuse, too.)
Anyway, I am just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this issue and/or if anyone has any suggestions of how to handle it. I don't have anyone who could go with me and I have been having very severe GI issues for quite some time now that are really messing with my health, so I truly do need to address this, but I am so freaked out, I have actually thought that suicide would be a better option. (Yes there are other reasons why suicide has occurred to me, too, and no I am NOT actually going to do it, but I mention it to show just how scared and triggered I am by this whole thing.)

i have been raped multipule times by my new exbf and i had an attempted rape by my bffs stepdad. most of the men in my life have either mentally abused me, physically abused me or both so i know what your going through. ive also been through the suicidal thoughts and even an attempt. i was a cutter for 4years after my miscarriage and the rapes.
sorry i cant help you. for me it helps talking about my fears with my mom before i go through anything
IVs bother me too, so that part is not helping, but it's not the part that is really scaring me....it's partially bc I react badly to meds and anesthesia and partly bc I need to breathe thru my mouth sometimes bc of several breathing issues......and its mainly bc of all the PTSD related fears, the vulnerability of the exam, etc
sorry about all that you have been thru, too......I have attempted suicide before, too, and cut and have an ED and all sorts of fun stuff from the rapes and other abuse.....so I can relate to that too.....glad that you can talk to your mom about this stuff, though....aside from my counselor I really don't have anyone I can talk to about this
