* He was your parent's friend, so he KNEW
- your dad was never around (so you lacked a strong father figure)
- you had moved 4 times in 3 years (so would be lonely)
- (and maybe) you had just got out of an abusive relationship (so would be vulnerable)
* He was your parent's friend, so he was in a position of authority / trust in your life
* He was in his 40's - WAY to old to have a healthy relationship with a (vulnerable) 16 y/o
* He contacted you - not the other way around
* He groomed you - knowing you'd respond to the flattery
* He asked you into his lair - you didn't initiate it
* He made the initial advance to you
* He continued when you said "no", panicking and crying
* He threatened you
* He dumped you by the roadside
* He continued to contact you, despite you telling him you were uncomfortable
* He raped you
Just which of these was your fault?
On the other hand:
* You were 16, possibly infatuated, certainly groomed, and vulnerable.
* You responded to his flattery, as most young girls would - he was good at it.
* You went round to his house. You had every right to go there.
* You said "no", and quite clearly.
You did nothing wrong.
I strongly suspect you were not the first young girl he'd groomed like that. But, even if you were, it makes no difference. All the fault was his. He is responsible for all the consequences.
