Just wondering if anyone else has gone through telling their parents or a family member they are close to. I have been wanting to tell my sister, for instance, since we have always always always been so close. Maybe thats why I am so afraid. I want to believe she would understand and be supportive but at the same time, I am dreading the possibility of her giving me the look. the "wow you were raped, ill never forget that" look. Im not sure how i feel about this being something she knows about me.

As far as parents, I don't think Ill ever tell them. Even if I wanted to. I still have this complex where I feel like they would say "well that wouldnt happen to someone like you" (they have always been so supportive and proud of me; I guess this happening is like letting them down almost.) Like I let this happen to me and thats not what they would have expected from me. Or something. I dont know.

Just looking for other stories, how it went, ways to go about it etc. I feel like so far the most helpful thing I have done is talk to those close to me, so if i could start with a family member, I think it will help?
