my rapist has ruined my life... my inner self feelings towards myself and how others look at me. I'm left mentally damaged to which Everyone around me cannot understand and I feel myself alone and angry with myself because I can't force people to love me. I'm hard work

I did suffer damage from both of mine as well. I did learn to turn it around. As my friend put it :

The trick is to find the ones who support you. Everyone else doesn't matter and have no place around you. More than likely, whatever damage was done to you can either be completely healed or completely controlled. Best wishes.

I feel that my rapists took my happiness. I'm very sorry you are going through this. You need to be surrounded by people who understand what you are going through is normal and right, like those of us on the site. We know, because we are either going through it or have gone through it. I sometimes feel as though just by looking at me people know I'm damaged goods. The feelings of I'm dirty and shame go away with time. Gentle hugs while you heal

I agree with you so much. I feel not only has my rapist taken my confidence, my personality, my everything. I conceived twins that horrible night that I came to love so much, only to lose them at 22 weeks. I blame him for losing them as well. I eventually lost my job and a lot of close friends all of which I blame on him. I have so much hatred for him and anger over what I lost. I harbor hatred for my close friends who abandoned me in my time of need and I blame that in home as well. I have lost so much including myself I just don't know who I am anymore.

I feel the same way, especially when my mum, one of the few people that I care about deeply, couldn't handle the rape and reacted badly going into denial. I felt so angry towards her but I am trying not to harbor any negative emotion because I need to prioritise myself and make myself able to love and trust others. I can't trust men at all and feel totally unsafe and triggered around them when I'm alone

@iamsurvivor97 that is so shitty. That happens so often it sucks... moms love to vicitm blame and not support their kids... it sucks

I completely understand how you feel. It's so frustrating how one traumatic event literally affects every aspect of your life. My thoughts, my actions, my perceptions have all been changed because of it.
