Big hugs!!!
I admire the fact you can pray for your rapist. I cannot pray for my rapist and much less daily. I don't think he will ever learn how to treat his wife with respect... or come to terms with himself and want to heal... At least not my rapist.
I reported him twice , but nothing was done either and he kept attending other clients. I know he raped other people. Take care of yourself.
Thanks for your reply. You're right, the truth is that many people don't change. When I told the police they said that most people who have raped once have raped before.... it's not their first time. It's unfortunate that at least in Canada we don't have a stricter legal code... hardly anyone gets caught and almost everyone is let off the hook which further perpetuates the violence towards women. They lament the fact that more women don't tell the authorities, but why should she? They don't give her any incentives!
Neverthless, I have to put my trust in something, so I put it in a higher being (God). It's taken me a long time to come to terms with it and in many ways I'm still struggling, but I know that I can't do anything more and the legal system isn't going to help me out, so I trust that God will have everything under control. I don't know if my rapist will ever change or not... I figure that's between him and God. I just pray for him because it helps me have a better perspective of the whole situation. It turns my anger into something productive... even though for the most part I often feel it's all an exercise in futility anyways...
