I was at a beach today to perform a ritual to help me to let go of things(I was attacked on a beach holiday). I had a rose and I tried to think of all the self blaming statements that I tell myself about the attack and for each one I tried to think of a counter arguement and threw a petal in to the sea to let go of the statement. i decided to try this because the main way I wanted to kill myself was to throw myself off a cliff and there is still that pull for me but i think rather than throwing myself off a cliff I need to throw away my self hatred cause I feel like I've been carrying it for long enough and its not helping anyone.
I guess the ritual helped a bit in that it was the first time I was able to see that they way they behaved was not ok and how vunerable I was in that situation and how they took advantage of that, but I think I still have a long way to go, I kind of don't believe what I'm typing right now!
I guess my question is has anybody else done any rituals or found anyhing that has helped them in letting go?
