I have been raped. When I was 6,15, and 21. I have been doing fine not having nightmares or flashbacks.
Last night when my husband and I were watching Law and Order SVU. My husband commented on the fact that "you are an idiot if you don't report your rape to the police."
So I said, "Is there something you want to say to me?"
He looks at me confused.
I said, "I didn't report my attacks."
He replied, "You idiot."
I guess I don't know how to react.
How should I approach this?

Sorry, but I think bringing it up again is probably not productive, even though he's being an ass.
Honestly? The arrest rate for reported rapes is 25 percent, so even if a victim does report, chances are only 1 in 4 an arrest is going to be made. Given that and given how victims are often treated? It takes a lot of guts to report, and the result is likely to be no charges.
I`d ask him to go to counselling with you, and talk about why he might have said that. If he won`t go/refuses to see what was wrong/pays lip-service to the therapist but then continues with his attitude afterwards, then I would wonder if I wanted to spend the rest of my life with someone who would do that... and probably come up with "No".
