Wednesday is the 3 years anniversay of my Rape.

Today is also hard for me because it happened at the Full Moon Party in Thailand and tonite is the full moon.

I've kind of felt like I've been a ticking time bomb waiting go off in two days.

Last year I ended up in the hospital with a little bit of a break down. My counceller says that sometimes the days before the day can even be worse (Antisiparoty anxiety)

I've only been at my new job for 2 months so I don't wait to be crying in my office and having to tell everyone about my dark secert.

I also don't want to call in sick to work becuase that means he wins.

I never thought that the word 'anniversary' would be for such a horrible thing.

just got through my 3rd year anniversary (for my last attack) a few months back. i know how it is...the anxiety, etc...

i know that you can make it through this year's anniversary, too! and deep down (way deep in there somewhere), you know you can, too.

don't lose hope! just breathe. keep your head up! i'm here if you need to vent or ANYTHING. message me ANY TIME...!

My six month anniversary was December 26th. No one in my life even realized it until I pointed it out. I know what you mean, I was a mess leading up to it. But, oddly enough, the day came and went without any major drama. I thought about it, sure, but I was OK.

I hope the same holds true for you.

I'd advise you take the day off, it does not mean he is winning. if you can take the day and relax and take care of yourself. I had my 11th anniv this past summer and I made the mistake of being at work.

if you know you are likely to have issues, protect yourself.

My six year anniversary is coming up. I am not sure of the exact date, I just have a time frame. Remember to breathe. We are here for you. You know best what you need, take some time off if you need it. Taking the time to care for yourself is not an admission of defeat. Maybe an admission to being human, which is all any of us can aspire to... I will be thinking of you. You are not alone.

Why have an anniversary for your rape? Anniversaries are meant to be for nice happy memories, I don't acknowledge the date I was raped I just know roughly when it happened - that's enough for me, they have already taken enough from me without taking that day or period each year. All i know is I'm healing and that's the best I can do for me

I WISH I didn't have to have a 'anniversay' for it. I hate calling it that too.

And I WISH that on Januray 1st my brain just turned directions and it was all I can think about.

My body remembers, my mind rememebrs and my soul remembers. I can't help it..I would do anything to forget.

I know how hard an anniversary can be; I've had 7. What worked for me was to stop fighting the feelings and just cry, or scream, or whatever. It always made me feel better. This year I wrote my rapist a letter (didn't send it, just wrote it). It's in my journal - I made it public if you want to read it. Anything to get it OUT - all the bad feelings and pain.
