for one of my classes i have to observe a number of ASL interpreters.....so i was in a sociology class and i was sitting there taking notes, wtaching and it was near the end of the class....the teacher said that rape was one of the most popular crimes that's not reported....i knew that and someone asked why and then she said that victims often feel that it's their fault....and someone said,"well girls totally do!!!! they totally ask for it!!!!! they dress that way and then if theyr get drunk they just totally ask for it...." and i got SO pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i wasn't in the class and it wasn't my place to say anything, but i watched as the interpreter's eyes grew big as she heard this and then she had to cool down her reaction and sign what he said.......the teacher said that that wasn't true and the guy said,"whatever..." then leaned back in his chair.....now at this point i'm trying to keep my cool and watch the interpreter, but i was kind of seeing red.....i dunno.....what would you do in this situation??? i was glad that the teacher said something, but i dunno.....i knew he wouldn't listen.....i dunno.....
