so i work at a daycare place that's also the part of a fitness center.....there's a child there that i'll call E and he has autism....he speech is limited, but he fully understands.....he has an aide, but his usual aide was gone today....not a big deal, his aide has been gone before....E can be violent when he gets angry and he's tall and strong and he can be really scary...he's 6 or 7 and almost as tall as me...i'm 5'4"....anyway i used to babysit him and he always attacked me so i stopped babysitting him.....he always comes on saturdays.......E loves movies so a lot of the time he pauses it or fasts forward and a bunch of other stuff....SO today at work he was there and he was at the T.V. and he touched it and even when we told him to stop he didn't....so his aide said, "E if you touch it again we hafta turn it off..." well he touched it again...so following through i went over and pushed the pause button and his aide turned off the T.V......his aide was behind him i was in front of him.....well E kinda freaked...long story short I'M holding his arms down when really this is his aide's job.....I'M trying to control him, that's his aide's job....before i got contro lof his hands E hit me, which he's done before....when i got control of his hands, he pried my fingers loose and was ableto get out of my grasp....he pulled my shirt almost ripped it and then grabbed y breasts and twisted them and squeezed them....it hurt soooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i didn't know what to do or what to say......sorry this is so long by the way....anyway i feel very violated.....he touched a part of me that i've already had violated......we told his mom and she kinda blamed us, which was predicted....the thing is, i want an apology from the mom AND the kid, because i feel extremely violated.....should i be feeling this way??? i mean, i know he's autistic, but really??? that behavior is NOT acceptable and the mom thinks it kind of is.....should i ask for an apology??? should i just let it go??? should i even be feeling violated???
Does your day care have a board? Go to them about it, this is not appropriate behaviour what if it were achild. Plus by grabbing you that hard he could do nerve damage, see a doctor right away and report it. Speak to your supervisor and manager of the daycare I am sure them have non violence crisis intervention policy. This boy need so be reprimanded. If he knows right from wrong. Speak to your manager insist on an meeting with the family to discuss this issue.
