Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an increase in blood pressure in the pulmonary artery or lung vasculature, leading to shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting, and other symptoms, all of which are exacerbated by exertion. Depending on the cause, pulmonary hypertension can be a severe disease with a markedly decreased exercise tolerance and right-sided heart failure.

I was researching why we may have chest pain, etc. and I came across 2 good informational sites. These may answer some of our questions (not all I'm sure).

Wanda, Thanks for the info. I look online for more info but most is pretty redundant, and not giving in-depth life changing information. My general practitioner said the reason the PS don't tell us what to expect is simply because they don't know. So finding someone who is going through it is of lot more value to us than constantly reading and rereading how oxygen circulates thought the heart and into the lung..etc. I want ( I guess like most of us) to know what to expect and how to plan and manage my (remaining) life and family. I wish everyone who has any info on this illness would post where they got it from. Maybe through it all..WE can find a cure.

MJ, I hope you find some useful information on these sites. I am still looking for others by asking specifiic questions (i.e. what causes chest pain in pulmonary hypertension). I have a lot of other questions to look up. I enjoyed your "Phriend" also!

Fonzy, I'm with you; I'm not getting the info I need from the doctor. So I decided to do some of my own research on the internet. If I find anything else of value I will certainly share any sites or info.
