Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Ok I have been having some pretty weird symptoms lately and when I called my doctor he said if I felt they were life threatening then I should go to the ER.
Let me start by telling you all that the GI bleed has totally stopped, and my INR is 3.4 which is within my normal therapeutic levels.
The symptoms I have been having are constant dull chest pain, nothing bad but annoying as heck and they seem to get worse when i lay on one side or the other. I also get severe cramps in the right side of my body at night (Calves, thighs, hands, feet, ankles, etc) I also start excessive sweating. i know ladies don't sweat they perspire, however i sweat like a stuffed pig and it doesn't matter what time of day or night. I also don't get the hot that goes with the excessive sweating. Has anyone had any of these symptoms or am i just that 1 in a million again. Yes I do take potassium, calcium with vitamin D, Vitamin B-6 and Flintstones vitamins.
The cramps have caused so much pain that i can barely walk the next day because my muscles hurt so bad. I don't think this is a life threatening event more annoying than anything else. I do have a doctors appointment next week so will ask the doctor then but in the meantime i wanted to pick your brains.

I've been having a lot of joint pain too, mainly my knees, ankles and wrists but my fingers also ache. Hope you get some answers next week *hugs*

When I was on generic ( warfarin ) i was having horrendous cramps at night like that... and i went to the er once c uz i swore my whole body was one big clot, I also experienced mega joint pain... once i switched to coumadin all of that went away!!

the reason i went to hospital was the dull ache in the chest - worse for lying down- radiating to my left arm, tightness in neck. i am sure some sweating but not all the time. breathlessness.
i was diagnosed with a PE.
it has only been a week since leaving hospital - now on warfarin - symptoms haven't changed much at all. if i work symptoms obviously get worse - hope this goes soon - for the both of us!
