By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Just some interesting things I found out recently since I am in the health care field. TB Tine tests leave big bruises and they bleed quite a bit after the test shot. Hepatitis vaccinations also leave very large bruises and bleed even more because they are much larger needles. However neither the Hep vaccinations or the TB tine tests interfere with your coumadin or lovenox. I also found out if the lab can find a place on your body that isn't bruised they cackle with glee so beware! Because you will walk away with a new bruise for sure LOL
I had to let my holes heal up in my ears. I rarely wore earrings but when I did they would keep bleeding. Not pour out but enough to be a problem getting it on clothes etc.
