Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
A small but steady force is at work throughout the medical industry. I've been watching this over the last year or so and hope that it's an omen of things to come.

[Although people with PE usually can be confident that they DO have emboli in their lungs---- and that, at this point, anti-coags are pretty much accepted as the 'go to drug'---- almost nothing is known about why they form (other than same ol', same ol') and the long range consequences are uncharted oceans except for a few studies; I stipulate to the fact that any good studies for that are very difficult to design.]

I agree with you (and could name several other illnesses that fall in the same 'track' as DVTs/ PE's----- massively underdiagnosed and some of them massively undertreated)
