Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.
Although I did not go through a depression like you did, I do understand how scary this all was for you. I think we all feel that way.
I had to give myself a shot every day for a full year. My bloodwork is good now and I just switched to the baby aspirin a week ago. I'm still alive! :-) For several months, right before I went to sleep I said a little thank you prayer, for giving me that one more day. And in the morning, when I awoke, I would do something similar -- just a line or two saying "thanks for giving me THIS new day and help me make the most of it". It really helped me. I know I should be doing that every day of my life at this point, and time and distance has caused me not to think about the good things that came from this, at this point. You will be fine. Look forward. it's hard on us to think back to what could have happened. But "it" didn't happen. You're still here. There's got to be a reason for that. Focus on that and figure out what you want to do for yourself, for others or whatever, that will make you feel good.
