Pulmonary Embolism Support Group
By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I am tired. " It seems all the no no's are weakening the bodies abilities to fight but at the same time pushing to hard does the same thing. how do each of you trick your bodies into accepting gentle discipline to help it gain strength? Also with being on caumadin an or lovenox in my case how do you find out what supplements you are allowed to take? i was always afraid to take anything for fear of messing up and taking the wrong things or wasting valuable money and taking what is not necessary? many questions? but there was a day actually 14 years of them where i carried for 12 preschool aged children every day and never got sick. even when they were wiping those snotty noses on me. the more dirt the better, the more bugs to experiment with the better. Lessons in how to catch a snake or climb a tree, all in a days work. the children knew how to clean doorways and knobs, life was a blast, they knew how to clean tables all the precautions in the world are not working and i am getting to the point where i wish i could say screw it just go out side and do what makes me mentally happy and it costs me an ultimate price it is better than sitting on the couch even though it is quite the most comfortable couch on earth since i designed it. it just doesn't seem logical in my mind to get pneumonia so often for no real reason i can believe is truth. does anyone have words of advice? the one thing though that my visiting nurse told me the other day was do what i can in the garden but wear gloves. Darn i love playing in dirt but she is right. and wearing a mask while working in the garden. as much as i would love to say no freaken way. that one does make sense, i do see a lot of people do it because of asthma, so i would not look so conspicuous and i would have exercise and fun.that is also a was to built up slowly. i am talking to self here. because as with the house i designed everything to be compartmentalized to i can do small parts every day with a finished product hopefully. it just seems like i or we should not have to do that.
part of this rant is it has been almost 5 years and i am sick of this whole thing. and as we know the people closest to us don't even want to hear about it. so you all get the pleasure of letting me vent a bit. you see over Christmas when i didn't realize it wasn't the PE's that was making me short of breath but pneumonia i had my sister over for the holidays and everything i tried to do i was so out of breath and she was mad because she as she put it when i said i could not do something. she said oh their goes the drama again, i just started crying because what she and others are telling us is don't tell them we are sick. go ahead and do a potentially life threatening activity because we don't have an answer as to why we feel like poop. take the verbal abuse because even we doubt what is going on. then boom all of a sudden poop hits the fan can't breath go to doc, all family is gone so they don't know how bad it is. then they are not answering the phone because they are upset with you for not giving them the best Christmas holiday ever, and you are now over exaggerating a scenario to "make yourself feel better" and make them "understand" does this sound familiar? i have spend that last three weeks crying over the holidays because i ran out of energy before the tree was fully decorated, sis had to finish cooking the meal,Wasn't able to finish Christmas shopping i am glad my son at least is very forgiving and patient. God love that boy. I AM TIRED OF PNEUMONIA AND P.E.'S . I want my life back so i can have fun mowing the lawn and raking the leaves. you heard right i love love love raking leaves i am warped it's all right with me. that is my marker for much better.when i can rake comfortable i know i am doing better. talked to much but you know what i mean. boy i really do talk to much. i think it my way oh telling those who don't listen to bug off and be silent. my prayers are with everyone who has no ear to vent to.

this whole PE stuff just upsets me. before this i was climbing trees and pruning my own, climbing on roofs to pull kids off, teaching my boys how to renovate houses now i can barely mop the floor. i got so angry at one doctor when she said i should use a cane or a walker. i said i am not a cripple nor will i ever be. i think that was the weekend i figured out how to chainsaw down the tree with one good arm just to get it done and prove i could find another way. i do stupid things when someone pigeon holes me. i tell my counselor i have to believe it will improve. i can't picture myself in this place forever. it is impossible all things heal. i have a friend that had a major heart attack no one gave him squat for hope. and he is back at work, singing in choir doing wonderful. i have to believe what we see is not what life has to offer permanently. injured brains can heal, arms, legs, we can do it with the right amount of work and rest. that is the part i suck at.
i don't think it is to much to ask God for enough strength to rake leaves and mow lawns he knows there are quite enough lazy people who hate doing it we will gladly do it. sheeh all my neighbors got there sod laid for free cause i love to roll in manure and lay sod it was is a good work out and instant gratification and purty when it is done. and i used to love showing off how darn slow they were.
For what its worth Im just now on the winning side of a case of bacterial pneumonia and in reading your comments I assume that is what youre troubled with and not a viral or fungi type pneumonia. My treatment was with antibiotics and I was concerned that treatment was ended too soon and it would come back. But fortunately the antibiotics took and its behind me for good. (I hope!). How well do you tolerate antibiotics? I read that hospital-acquired pneumonia includes some of the most serious types of pneumonia because theyve developed resistance to antibiotics. The same article mentioned that we can re-infect ourselves in some case if were bothered by acid reflux (?) where the bacteria is in our mouths or stomachs and it gets into our airways. The risk is increased if a person is on corticosteroids, chemotherapy or any drug that interferes with our immune system.
Watch that chainsawing!
balgal i know when i was hospitalized at the beginning of the year the pulminolagist i had was wonderful he must have tested for just about every autoimmune malfunction possible and then some. i was certain he wasn't gonna leave me any blood. that is what is baffling us all especially me. i have tighten my belt so to speak and do go in to large areas or around alot of people for a while till we get a handle on this. it seems that if i get strong enough to be able to work out and go on walks and garden i will be building up immunities. and to be able to cook decent meals. when we are weak we sacrifice nutrition for lack of ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and prepare decent meals and in this town eating out you get pizza or hamburgers or tacos that is about it. i hope you are doing a lot better i can't believe how many people are beaten down by such a seemingly small sneaky little anomaly there has to be ways to win and grow strong..
