Well I did have an increase but I think mine was because I wasn't on the bc anymore which is what controled my acne for years..... I never even thought about it possibly being related to warfarin. I do know that my breakouts are more often when I am stressed. (just a thought).

the first month on warfarin, definitely. I've never been prone to breaking out, am in my 30's anyhow. But that first month i felt like a teenager or something. I suspect it was similar as MSM said, that i'd been on the bc pill for a decade and stopping it made my hormones go crazy. It's fine now that i'm off warfarin however. Warfarin has lots of crazy side effects, so anything's possible. Stress is absolutely a factor however in stuff like that, and PE is a pretty stressful event!

I, too, have complexion problems now. i am 52, way past the bc needs. I have several pimples on my face and look very odd, gray hair and teen acne.
LOL!

I have had very bad breakouts, worse than ever. I thought it was from being off the BC pill.

Well if it's any consolation I blame everything on the Coumadin so why not pimples too

I am glad that you posted this. I have been breaking out like crazy. I am 34 years old and feel like I am going through my teen years all over again. My forehead has been so oily and that isn't normal for me. I just figured it had something to do with the hysterectomy I had even though I still have my ovaries. Very interesting to know. Thank you.

I am 33 and having the same issues. I haven't had them since I was young. Now I get them a lot.. Not just on my face though. My face has been oily as well..

Thanks for posting this topic. I too have been experiencing severe acne breakouts and was wondering whether the wonderful warfarin was a contributing factor. As "janemma" and "ariel34" said I feel like a teenager. I never suffered from acne as a teen and that's why I believe that the medication is affect my body's hormonal balance thus resulting in oily skin. i.e. forehead as well as odd places like my shoulders.
My doctors all shrug their shoulders and can't provide an explanation.
The characteristics of my acne are:
- they seem to cluster
- they appear very quickly (nothing in the morning, by noon I have a "ripe" one ready to pop!
- or they won't mature at all. They just sit there until they turn into a dark spot without any puss. I current have one pimple that has been on my forehead for two weeks...just sitting there.

I'm doing more research on the topic, please contribute if possible.

Absolutely!! At first I thought it was because.of the stress of the situation. But even after I calmed down a bit....they didnt go away. Its like everyday there is a new blemish and they don't clear up nearly as fast as before warfarin.
