By far the most common form of pulmonary embolism is a thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot, generally a venous thrombus, becomes dislodged from its site of formation and embolizes to the arterial blood supply of one of the lungs. Symptoms may include difficulty breathing, pain during breathing, and more rarely circulatory instability and death.

I was diagnosed with my PE June 10th. The week before and weeks following have been really bad migraine weeks for me. I see a neurologist for my migraines, so I called his office two weeks to get his thoughts on whether or not I should come in for a visit . To my surprise, he recently (within the last month) vanished from the neurology department he has been with for years. They are dissolving the headache clinic he started.
So why do I find this interesting? He was one of the local doctors receiving the most money from pharmaceutical companies over the years. He was getting serious amounts of money from GSK. So maybe...just maybe...there are some repercussions on the doctors.
But sometimes that type of disappearance follows a letter from the FDA or other 'authorities' warning them.

Interestingly enough, the head of NATF was also a senior member of the DVT Coalition, the organizations who oversees the March DVT Awarneness Month (run by no other then - Sanofi-Aventis). The past two DVT Awarness months have gone but with but a whisper of events by the Coalition. Funding seemed to be cut around the same time generic Lovenox was approved. Coincidence?
So what do you do? Decide to court the funding of the companies of the "new anticoagulants" and hope the end justifies the means?
